“The Memorial Museum of Astronautics opened in Moscow in 1981. Why underground? Because it is located within the base of the soaring Monument to the Conquerors of Space in the northeast of the city.”

I also went to see the exhibit that went along with Gagarin’s statue. It was put on by British Council in London. Yuri’s daughter Elena also had a hand in it.
It was nice to finally see something about cosmonauts in the flesh.
I also bought the book that has all the pictures from the exhibit.
(and unmanned programs too!)
